English Vinglish, billed as Sridevi’s “comeback film,” tells the story of an Indian woman in the U.S. for a family wedding, whose language barrier isolates her within her own family. Unbeknownst to her relatives she enrolls in an English class for foreigners. Through her eyes we see the challenges of learning to navigate in a new culture in an unfamiliar language and the joys and frustrations those challenges bring. In Hindi, English, French, Tamil, and Telugu with English subtitles. (Digital.)
