IndieWire describes The Lure as “the best goth musical about man-eating mermaids ever made.” Not sure there is much more to say. Agnieszka Smoczyńska’s fiendishly dark and sly modern fairytale is set in Communist-era Poland and highlights the havoc wreaked by two vampire mermaid sisters intertwined in love triangle. In Polish with English subtitles. Contains mature content, including violence and nudity.
