In this whimsical and wise black comedy, Jesus Christ, the Devil, and Christ's assistant, Magdelina, show up in New York on the last day of the century to discuss the Apocalypse. Will Christ have a change of heart as he views NYC on the verge of Y2K? This was Hal Hartley's first longer video piece using the rough impressionistic distortion techniques he'd developed through the mid-1990s and stars regular collaborators Martin Donovan and Thomas Jay Ryan, with rocker PJ Harvey as Magdelina.
