Still image from the film On the Ice

When two best friends go seal hunting with another boy, tragedy ensues.  Andrew Okpeaha MacLean’s thriller takes place in isolated Alaskan town and features an all-Inuit cast. A beautifully shot film that poignantly captures the bleakness and extreme conditions of the Alaskan winter, On the Ice examines the limits of friendship and asks whether or not it is possible to truly get away with murder.

(HD Cam presentation, virtual Q&A is scheduled with the director following the screening)

This screening is sponsored by First Nations Educational and Cultural Center, American Indian Student Association an Indiana University, Indiana University Student Association, Native American Graduate Students’ Association, Office of Multicultural Initiatives, Native American Community Center of Bloomington, and IU Cinema.
