Parking is available near the IU Cinema at the Jordan Avenue Garage (the top level is open to all visitors). If you have an IU parking pass, you can park at surface lots near the IU Auditorium during the week after 5 p.m. Parking is free on weekends. Learn more about IU Cinema parking »

Lecture format will be a moderated discussion with Kataoka Ichiro

Kataoka Ichiro is one of the top professional benshi in Japan. He was the star pupil of the undisputed master benshi, Sawato Midori. As a benshi, he tours globally and accompanies Japanese silent films by voicing the characters. His visit is sponsored by the Department of Screen Arts and Cultures and the University of Michigan Center for World Performance Studies.
