The film will follow Bride of Frankenstein.
Dracula director Tod Browning’s Pre- Code horror film is one of the most controversial movies ever funded by a Hollywood studio. A passion project adapted from Browning’s experience working for a traveling circus, Freaks is notable for its use of actual sideshow performers and gained notoriety for its dark, confrontational themes of jealousy and revenge. This film is now celebrated as an allegorical statement about acceptance and tolerance in the face of incredible diversity. (16mm presentation)
