Still image from the film The Last Wave
Under brooding rainstorms over Sydney, a lawyer (Richard Chamberlain) is enlisted to defend four aboriginals who have been accused of murdering another. As he explores the case and learns about aboriginal ideas about Dream-time and tribal killing by curse, the lawyer becomes plagued by increasingly bizarre dreams and develops a deep connection to one of the accused. Slowly unraveling a doomsday prophecy, he has a final showdown with the shaman of the tribe and learns the horrifying truth. (35mm presentation)
