Special Fundraising Event

Proceeds go to the Monroe County IU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to local, IU-bound high school graduates
Voted one of the best sports films of all time, the Indiana classic Hoosiers tells the story of Norman Dale (Gene Hackman), invited to coach in Hickory, Indiana. Dale’s unconventional coaching style begins to irritate the team’s fans immediately, and it takes time for his team to adjust, but sure enough, they become better players.

Written and produced by Bloomington native Angelo Pizzo, and directed by IU Alumnus and now-Bloomington resident, David Anspaugh, Hoosiers was nominated for two Oscars.

* Tickets for IU Alumni Association members are $10 with proof of membership. alumni.indiana.edu/chapters/monroe

Director David Anspaugh is scheduled to be present for a Q&A following the film.

An Indiana native and IU graduate, David Anspaugh began his career as a director for the hit television show Hill Street Blues, for which he won two Emmy Awards and a DGA award. His film directing debut, Hoosiers, won audiences and critics over and earned him an Independent Spirit Nomination for Best First Feature. He later went on to direct many films including Rudy and Moonlight and Valentino. David will begin teaching film production at IU's Media School in January, 2015.
