Programming and Audience Development Manager

As IU Cinema’s Programming and Audience Development Manager, Michaela is responsible for programmatic, professional communication, and outreach media duties in support of the Cinema’s audience development and programming/curatorial functions. This includes serving as the editor-in-chief of the Establishing Shot blog, which has an average monthly readership of 11,000, and assisting in programming for the Cinema’s Matinee Classics and 5X series, as well as special series including Twin Peaks and Hoosiers on Screen. Her film writing has been shared by outlets like the Criterion Collection and is also included in the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry. She’s a co-producer of the documentary short Hollywood's Mermaid: The Esther Williams Story (2026). Michaela holds a Master of Arts in Cinema and Media Studies from The Media School at Indiana University.
